5/6 1975 During the recording sessions for Wish You Were Here at Abbey Road Studios in London, Syd Barrett appeared out of nowhere as the rest of Pink Floyd listened to playbacks of "Shine On You Crazy Diamond". A song about Barrett. By this time, 29-year-old Barrett had shaved off all his hair (including his eyebrows), had become overweight, and his ex-bandmates did not recognize him at first. Barrett eventually left the studio without saying goodbye, and none of the band members have seen him since.
