12/4 1954 Bill Haley recorded "Rock Around The Clock" at Pythian temple studios in New York. It is considered by many to be the song that put rock'n'roll on the world map. The song was used as the opening track on the soundtrack of the film "Blackboard Jungle", and became a worldwide No.1 hit, and the best-selling pop single with sales of over 25 million copies. "Rock Around The Clock" was written by Max C. Freedman and James E. Myers, and actually first recorded by the Italian-American band Sonny Dae And His Knights.
