22/2 1987 Andy Warhol (artist) died after having gallbladder surgery. Warhol is best known for his pop art, but he was also the manager and producer of The Velvet Underground. In addition, he designed several album covers, including for The Rolling Stones (Sticky Fingers), John Cale (The Academy In Peril) and The Velvet Underground (The Velvet Underground & Nico).
