16/4 1969 Elektra Records MC5's record contract went demolished. The band was pissed off at Hudsons, a department store chain in Detroit, which refused to stock their album because of obscene lyrics. Therefore, MC5 had placed an ad in the local newspaper that said: "Stick alive with MC5, and Fuck Hudsons!" including the Elektra Records logo. Hudsons responded by stopping selling all records from Elektra. Also records from their classical division, Nonsuch, which was a big loss for Elektra. MC5 subsequently signed a record deal with Atlantic Records, which later became part of Elektra.
