15/4 2001 Joey Ramone, (Jeffrey Ross Hyman) singer of the Ramones, died. After a long battle with lymphoma, he finally died, only 49 years old. In 2003, he was honored by naming a block of East 2nd Street in New York, Joey Ramone Place.
